To meet the continuous demand for a secure and safe stay at the heart of the city, YWCA of Ernakulam provides varied type of accommodation for students, working women and senior single women. We also have guest rooms for short stay.
We provide various types of accommodation. They are listed below:
Salom is a four-storied building. The Foundation stone laid by His Grace Joseph Mar Gregorious Bishop of Cochin Diocese Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church on 22th May 1998.This block was inaugurated by Sri.K.R Viswambharan, I.A.S Ernakulam District Collector on 14th July 2000.Blessed by H.G. Dr.Thomas Mar Arthanassious Metropolitan of Kandanad Diocese.
The Ground Floor of the Salom Building is exclusively used as Retirement Home for senior women. All are well furnished single rooms with a pantry and modern amenities. A spacious common recreation and dining hall is also a part. We are providing hygienic and nutritive food. A qualified counselor visits them regularly.
Lady Wavell (LW)
The foundation stone was laid by Her Excellency Lady Wavell on 16th 1945. This building provides accommodation only for students.
Sosa Mathew(SM) Block
The foundation stone of this building was laid on 11th October 1985 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Bishop of the Mar Thoma Church. The building was inaugurated on 20th of August 1987 by His Beatitude Mar Basselious Poulose II Catholicos of the east. This building provides accommodation only for working women. A well furnished recreation room with televison, carom board and supplemented with newspapers and magazines.
Jyothi Nivas caters accommodation to retired single women. All the rooms are well furnished even with a pantry facility. We are providing hygienic and nutritious food and counseling facilities. It also has well furnished Visitors lounge and dining hall.
Rachel Varghese (RV) Block
Only students are residing in this block. This block of building comprises of Dining Hall and well equipped kitchen with modern amenities.
Our Auditorium can occupy almost 100 persons. Here we conduct weekly programmes, celebrations and get togethers.
